Dundonald Bluebell, Central Taxis East of Scotland League Premier Division,
Moorside Park, Tuesday 30 July 2019
Hard on the heels of the draw at Broxburn Athletic Bo’ness United visit Moorside
Park to play Dundonald Bluebell. The BUs are hoping for a better display that will
give them a win at Dundonald although things could have been worse at Albyn Park.
It was definitely a point gained at Broxburn with a late goal from Ryan Stevenson
cancelling out a first have own goal resulting from a rare mistake by BU keeper Andy
Murphy. Dundonald didn’t play on Saturday the heavy rain washing out their home
fixture. Hopefully Moorside Park will be playable for the BUs visit.
Bo’ness came up against Dundonald for three matches last season drawing their
away League fixture while beating them at Newtown Park. The sides shared six
goals in Fife Bo’ness coming back three times thanks to a Marty Wright hat trick.
Barry Sibanda, Ross Drummond and Scott Durie were on target for the home side
that day in a game where Ross Campbell was red carded early in the game with Will
Snowdon also sent off late on.
In the return match an Allan MacKenzie strike and a brace from Marty Wright
ensured Bo’ness won the points, Calum Smith scoring a late consolation for the
visitors. On this occasion it was Dundonald who played most of the game with ten
men, Craig Wedderburn receiving two yellow cards in the first half hour.
In between these games Bo’ness were again at Dundonald for a Football Nation Cup
tie with the only difference between the sides a Nicky Prentice goal scored after only
Bo’ness manager Max Christie was far from happy with his side’s performance at
Broxburn and the players have a point to prove to both their boss, and to themselves
at Dundonald. Hopefully the outcome will be three points with a positive display to
please the visiting BU faithful.
