Date – Saturday 01 November 2025
Competition – Park’s Motor Group Lowland League
Bo’ness United 3
(Mitchell 26 (pen) 73, Fitzpatrick 85)
Heart of Midlothian B 1
(Osborne 60)
Bo’ness United made it three wins from their last four Lowland League matches with a home victory over Heart of Midlothian B. The opening scenes saw the ball finding most of the park though despite the open play there were few clear cut chances, the closest a Kieran Mitchell shot straight at Hearts keeper Jack Lyon. However, a few minutes short of the thirty Mitchell did find the target from the spot after Jordan Armstrong was fouled in the box.
The first period had Bo’ness playing into the wind and after the break it was Hearts facing the elements. For thirty minutes the young Jambos knocked the ball about, Bo’ness largely on the back foot during which Hearts pulled one back, Alfie Osborne’s shot from the edge of the box zipping low past Matthew Wallace into the corner of the net. At this point the game was finely balanced, the outcome not certain but with fifteen minutes remaining Bo’ness regained the lead, Kieran Mitchell running onto Jack Hodge’s fabulous through pass ball before angling past Jack Lyon. The goal seemed to knock the stuffing out of the Hearts youngsters and Bo’ness made sure of the points with a Roan Fitzpatrick free kick that curled in off the far post.
The win sees Bo’ness maintain their sixth position on the table and now face a difficult midweek game at Bonnyrigg Rose.
