Bo’ness United got back to winning ways on a windswept K Park Stadium in a game where just before the break a red card and a BU goal turned the contest on its head. After the initial exchanges Caledonian Braves took the lead, former BU Lennon Walker pouncing onto a poor clearance to run through slipping the ball past Matthew Wallace. Five minutes later Walker had a chance to repeat though this time the BU keeper touched the ball onto the post before clearing. In amongst this Bo’ness had enjoyed plenty of possession without being able to make the breakthrough. However, things changed when just on half time Jack Brown received a second yellow card and from the resulting free kick Ali El-Zubaidi connected with Tom Grant’s cross to see the teams go in level.

Into the second half Bo’ness took the initiative immediately, Kieran Mitchell receiving the ball on the left before turning and shooting into the far top corner of the net and substitute Roan Fitzpatrick latched onto Jamie Watson’s through ball to fire past Braves keeper Bernard White. That was all within the first six minutes of the half and Caley were stunned, unable to make a response. Bo’ness dominated the rest of the contest and with seven minutes remaining Tom Grant curled a great shot into the top corner and Kieran Mitchell bagged his brace heading in at the near post from a Ryan Schiavone cross.

Bo’ness have no game next Saturday but on the following Tuesday night host Clydebank in what is certain to be another stiff test for BU manager Stuart Hunter’s squad.
