BO’NESS UNITED MATCH SUMMARY SEASON 2024/2025
Date – Saturday 25 January 2025
Competition – Park’s Motor Group Lowland League
Gretna 2008 0
Bo’ness United 1
Scorer: Mitchell 60
A solitary Kieran Mitchell goal was enough to give Bo’ness Untied the points at Gretna 2008 in a closely fought if largely scrappy game. The breakthrough came in sixty minutes, Smart Osadolor laying the ball off for Mitchell to angle low into the opposite corner of the net.
Kieran Mitchell had early chances to put his side ahead as Bo’ness made a bright start to the dangerous ball across the goal face was only missing a touch to put the hosts ahead. After the break opportunities continued to be created, even if few and far between and the first goal was always going to be important. It was Bo’ness who got that strike but just before the end BU keeper Liam Campbell made a great save to stop Iain Anderson’s header and the same player curled a low shot that just went wide of the post.
This was a good win for Bo’ness, giving some breathing space from the teams below them while gaining some ground on those above. Hopefully this can continue, though there will be a pause next week as Bo’ness visit Albion Rovers for the start of the League Cup campaign,
