Back to our home away from home today for another league game as the matches continue to come thick and fast for the BU.
Today’s game should have a bit of added bite to it as the last time the home side played Tranent our so far unbeaten Gaffer was in the visitors dug out as they beat us 5-0 leading to the departure of then Boss Steve Kerrigan and by the midweek Max Christie was at the helm of the BU. Since his arrival at Bo’ness I’m sure I speak for everyone in saying the difference in the team has been fantastic as Max continues on an unbeaten run including the scalps of Champions Bonnyrigg amongst many others and keeping a run going in 2 cup competitions.
With our conference decided a while ago Bonnyrigg crowned Champions we now only have 3 league games including today to go and in both other conferences it is the final games and both have gone right to the wire with the titles being decided today.

Into today’s game now then and the rare occurrence of the sun at Camelon made it a fantastic day for football as the match was taken in by the usual large support that follows the BU making for a great crowd today. It was a frantic start to the game as the home side took an early lead. A free kick was played across from Jacobs, Hunter headed the ball down and Keast was there to send the ball into the net. 1-0 BU. Only minutes later the visitors were back in it, a shot that Murphy should have held but didn’t left an opportunity and the ball was put into the net for 1-1. There was no settling down yet as the game got back underway and 14 minutes in there was another goal. The home side broke forward and the ball was played across goal, the support held their breath after Morgan got on the end of it as it looked like it wasn’t going in but over the line it went for BU 2 - 1 Tranent. There was no signs so far of the game settling down as the visitors were coming forward only for Murphy to rush out and get down well to grasp the ball. The next ball forward was again for Tranent this time Jacobs made a good clearance for a corner. It was then the home sides turn as the visiting keeper clutched a high ball into the box. Forward came the BU again however and a shot this time went wide of the post. The visiting keeper then made a great stop as Morgan broke free and got a great shot away, on the rebound there was shouts for hand ball that were waved away. 33 minutes in and still end to end as now down the right came the visitors a block was put in and both sides claimed the ball as a corner was awarded. In it came and was cleared but as the ball was sent back a mistake in defence trying to play off side left an opportunity as the flag stayed down, Murphy done well to make the save and keep the score to 2-1 with now 10 minutes to half time. Minutes later and a through ball from the visitors got to the BU box, Jacobs done well to knock it to Hunter who cleared the ball for a throw in. In it came to the box and a flick over Jacobs head left a shooting opportunity which was hard and on target, Murphy in the BU goal made a fantastic save diving low and palming the ball away. The home side got up the other end of the pitch quickly and won a corner which came to nothing. As the game continued end to end forward came Tranent with a good ball over to the back post from the left, a good header to clear from Snowden relieved the danger this time. On the attack again the home side got a free kick out on the right wing. It was swung in but too deep and got retrieved and kept in play on the far left. In came the cross and it was defended for a corner that was then booted clear by the visitors. Into added time and another goal came, a cross from Stevenson was headed down by Hunter and Keast made no mistake in finding the net for the 2nd time today. BU 3 - 1 Tranent.
With only the kick off to come before half time the half ended. BU 3 - 1 Tranent

Into the 2nd half and it was a bit of a quieter start than the 1st half with the 1st real opportunity coming 12 minutes in. A good ball down the left was then fizzed over the box and Wright forced the visiting keeper into a good save from close range. Another chance soon followed with a long ball forward leaving the visiting defence to clear well. From the clearance a break up field looked dangerous but again the home defence stood firm to clear any danger. As the game settled down into a bit of a mid field pass about for both sides 29 minutes in the BU defence was called into action with Campbell doing well to make a headed clearance from a dangerous ball into the home sides box. On the half hour the 1st change came from Max Christe as Prentice replaced Marty Wright. 2 minutes later and the visitors job was made harder as they were reduced to 10 men a foul on the half way line saw a deserved 2nd yellow lead to a red. The visitors looked to be loosing their discipline slightly as yet another bad tackle flew in leading to a free kick on the left of the box. In came the ball and it was booted clear. With now 4 minutes to go another goal came and it was the hat trick
for Fraser Keast. A free kick on the right was well swung in from the left and Keast made no mistake at the back post making it BU 4 - 1 Tranent. Straight from the kick off the frustration from the visitors was clear as a shocking challenge went in on the half way line. With shouts for the red card to come out again well justified the referee made do with a stern taking to and as the game got back underway the home side were coming forward again. Good defending this time from the visitors sent the ball for a corner. A strong pass back then had the visiting keeper on alert as he had to chest down and clear followed by Keast almost on the end of a through ball down the left in what was now a strong end to the game from the BU. Into added time and another dangerous break forward for the home side had the visiting defence scrambling to clear the ball. With no more action the referee finally ended the game BU 4 - 1 Tranent.
