After 2 emphatic home wins to start his BU managerial reign Max Christie takes his side on the road for the 1st time in his 1st away game in charge. With this arguably the toughest of his 1st 3 fixtures I’m sure himself and team would go here looking for maximum points full of confidence in what has been a good start for the new man in charge.

Into today’s game and as always it was taken in by a good travelling support for the BU on what was a decent day weather wise calm and mild with hints of the sun trying to poke through the clouds. The visitors began well and as Gemmell made his way into the box he was brought down. With the Haddington player booked the referee pointed to the spot and Morgan converted the penalty brilliantly. Haddington 0 - 1 BU. The home side tried to get back in the game quickly as the ball had to be defended for a corner by the visitors but it came to nothing as it was definitely the BU looking the better side early on. This was emphasised as Donnelly had a shot that was sent for a corner. It was soon 2-0 as on 22 minutes A great pass was fed in to Stevenson and he calmly slotted the ball low past the home keeper. Straight from the kick off the visitors won the ball back and were on the front foot once again this time good defending from Haddington sent the ball for a corner. Morgan swung the ball in and almost sent it goal bound in what would have been a spectacular goal. Minutes later another corner was swung in from the the same side by Morgan this time the home keeper done well to collect. On 26 minutes it was looking easy for the visitors as Captain Dougie (Chris Donnelly) picked the ball up outside the box, he rifled a shot towards goal and it smacked off the inside of the post and into the back of the net. Haddington 0 - 3 BU. On the half hour mark the home side got forward and forced a corner but as it was swung into the box Murphy in the BU goal had no problem clutching the ball from the air. Marty Wright was next to have a go for the visitors and he was frustrated as his shot went high over the bar. A minute later and Wright was frustrated again as he hit another shot goal wards this time in target but the home keeper made a great save sending the ball for a corner. Morgan again swung the corner in with a fantastic delivery the keeper rose and fumbled the ball slightly but managed to gather and remove any danger. 37 minutes gone and another attack from the BU this time down the far side and as the ball made its way forward it was hard to say if it was offside or not from where I was and also for the referee with no official linesmen today to help. Anyways the ball was cleared for a corner and another brilliant delivery found the head of Ross Campbell and he nodded the ball down and into the net past the the keeper. Haddington 0 - 4 BU. With the home side struggling to make any real impression on the game so far which did come as a bit of a surprise with the BU expecting a tough game but on the other hand it has to be said the BU were really good and making it hard for the home side to make any impression on the game. The final action of the 1st half was another shot on goal from the visitors as Wright drilled one high over the bar. Half time Haddington 0 - 4 BU.

Into the 2nd half and it was much the same as the 1st to begin with other than no clear cut chances on goal but the visitors still were still looking safe and in control. 22 minutes in and Campbell kept his cool at the back to clear the ball making a good pass to Stevenson. The ball was then passed forward to Donnelly our wide and his cross was headed but backwards rather than goal wards, the loose ball fell to Morgan and his shot then went high over the bar. 24 minutes in and BU manager Max Christie looked to his bench and made a change as Comrie came on for Wright. Really good play down he left saw Donnelly so well passing to Snowdon who the found Prentice with a switch and as the ball broke loose Gemmell done well to win it and pass to Morgan. The pass back to Gemmell saw him have to challenge but he won it and the ball went for a corner. Another fantastic delivery from Morgan found Donnelly in the box and with the keeper looking to be best the ball went just over the bar. 32 minutes in a stretcher was called for as the No 10 for the home side seemed to twist something with no challenge, there was no blame and the BUs Michael Gemmell assisted the Haddington first aider. The players of bothnside looked on concerned as a round of applause came when the stretcher was carried off and a player looking in a lot of discomfort. The visitors were soon on the front foot again ax Donnelly done well picking up the ball and turning his man into the box. The final shot towards goal was unfortunately off target. Another attack from the BU firstly saw a good ball into the box by Jacobs clearers straight back to him and with the crowd urging him to shoot he answered the call with a great shot from outside the box that was heading for the top corner until the home keeper made a fantastic save to tip the ball over the bar. Unbelievably the referee awarded a goal kick taking away the credit to the home keeper for such a great save and in protest to the decision Gemmel saw himself booked. As the game went into stoppage time the visitors still looked ok full control as they kept the ball well and produced another good ball into the box that the home side had to defend.
Full time Haddington 0 - 4 BU.
