BU'S keep up 100% Record

Match Report By Bryan Copeland

Another new place to visit for the BU as we travel to the seaside town of Burntisland to face Burntisland Shipyard in this league encounter. With cup ties the previous 2 weeks 1 lost and 1 dramatically won with 2 quick goals when it looked like the exit door at the end the BU were looking to continue the winning results having only lost 2 games since the start of the season.
Into the game and it was the visitors with the wind at their backs in the 1st half and an early chance when Allan MacKenzie almost got a shot away on goal. The home side got forward on the break and it looked like a shot was coming towards BU keeper Andrew Murphy but it never transpired. Forward came the BU again this time Will Snowdon was almost on the end of a chance. The BU got a corner with good play down the left and it was swung in well with Will Snowdon on the end of it forcing the home keeper into a save. The home side were forward with a good chance again and with the keeper beat the ball rolled past the post. A free kick was then awarded to the visitors that looked a bit far out for a shot but the ball was struck towards goal anyway and against the defensive wall. An early substitution was enforced on BU manager Kegs with just 23 minutes played as Joshua Watt went off injured replaced by Kieran Sweeney. As the game settled down the next chance fell to the visitors 10 mins from half time with a good ball played into the box and Kieran Sweeney with a clever back heel forced the keeper into a good save. On 37 minutes the opening goal came and it was for the visitors a good ball played across found Brian Morgan who shot sweetly against the underside of the bar and down into the net to make it Burntisland 0 - 1 BU. Minutes later and just before half time it was Burntisland 0 - 2 BU as Aldin Zubadi found the net with a good finish. With no more action the 1st half ended
Burntisland Shipyard 0 - 2 BU.

Into the 2nd half and the home side were unlucky not to get a goal back as the ball came off the post and onto Andrew Murphy in the BU goal before coming off the post again. Forward then came the visitors but the chance came to nothing and the home side broke forward quickly and won a corner on the left. It was swung in well and as the ball went towards goal visiting keeper Andrew Murphy made a great save to keep the BU 2 - 0 in front. The game was now opening up as the visitors got forward again only to be denied by the defence with good play before the home side were then quickly up the park forcing the BU keeper into another save. With now 10 mins remaining BU manager Kegs made his 2nd change as Nicky Prentice came off for Assistant Manager / Player Andrew Shirra making his 1st appearance in a while. The game was put beyond doubt for the visiting BU as Kieran Sweeney found the net to make it 3-0. With minutes remaking Kegs made his final change for the BU as James Rintoul replaced Allan MacKenzie. As the game entered added time Ian Syme had a shot on target for the visitors that the home keeper saved well low down to his left. With no more action the match ended
Burntisland Shipyard 0 - 3 BU.
