Back to league duty after a cup tie win last week for the BU and a chance to keep the current unbeaten run going as we welcome another of the new teams we will play this season to Newtown Park for what could be classed as a local derby with Dunipace being our nearest neighbours.
The home side started off shorting towards the Kinneil School end of the park but it was the visitors with an early chance from a corner. Andy Murphy in the BU goal had safe hands to take the ball out the air. Forward then came the home side and a good ball in was headed towards goal but went wide of the left hand post. The home side pressed forward again and 1 corner led to another but the ball wasn’t directed towards the visiting keepers goal. The home side enjoyed some good possession as the game progressed and another shot went wide of the visiting keepers post. Just before the half hour another corner was swung in by the Home side but again it came to nothing. The visitors then got forward and won a free kick outside the box. The initial passes across the BU box were good but nothing came of it in the end. The visitors again came forward quickly down the left but Stuart Hunter was there to clear the ball for a corner. 5 mins before half time forward came the visitors quickly yet again this time a good tackle from Josh McDonald broke up the attack before it reached the box. The home side played the ball out well and another effort towards goal went wide.

Half time BU 0 - 0 Dunipace.

Into the 2nd half and a good move down the left earned a free kick on the edge of the box. The cross in was clever from Joshua Watt but the visiting keeper safely held the ball in the end. Andy Murphy in the BU goal then had to be alert to clutch the ball as the visitors broke forward. The home side then had a really good spell, great pressure outside the box from Brian Morgan won the ball for the BU he then squared it but it was put away for a corner before any shot on goal happened. A good corner was then swung in only again for it to come to nothing. In came the ball again from the home side and this time Ross Campbell fired the ball into the net only for the flag to be up for offside. A great ball into the box from Will Snowdon had Chris Donnelly almost on the end of it but again it was defended well. The visitors got forward but the ball was well cleared before any real danger ensued. 18 minutes into the half and BU manager Steven Kerrigan made his 1st substitution Josh McDonald came off to be replaced by a Trialist. Just on the park and said Trialist was in on the action as he curled a shot towards goal from the edge of the box, the visiting keeper scrambled over to cover it as the ball went just wide of the post. Another good ball came into the box from the home side only for it to again go wide of the post. Brian Morgan was next to have a go for the BU with a shot from outside the box as again the home side ramped up the pressure the shot however went wide of the post. Finally with 25 minutes remaining the break through came Will Snowden again done well with a great cross, it was met by Joshua Watt who found the net. BU 1 - 0 Dunipace. The lead was almost doubled minutes later Will Snowdon again provided a great cross and it was Joshua Watt almost on the end of it but just couldn’t get there. With now 15 mins remaining Joshua Watt swung in another good corner but yet again no one got on the end of it for the home side. Joshua Watt swung in yet another corner but this time there was just too much on it as the ball went for a goal kick. The visitors broke forward and got into the box but good defending again cleared any danger. Forward came the BU again and another corner was awarded. This time Joshua Watt left it to Brian Morgan but the same result of a good delivery into the box came, up went Chris Donnelly to head the ball towards goal but it was straight into the gloves of the visiting keeper. 5 minutes reaming and another chance to get the ball into the box for the BU with a free kick out on the left, rather than cross it Brian Morgan played it back towards Joshua Watt who hit it 1st time but the ball was well over the bar this time. Forward came the home side again though and the visiting keeper had to be quick off his line to clutch the ball. In came the ball again this time Allan MacKenzie provided the cross but again the visiting keeper saved. Allan MacKenzie again done well holding the ball up in the left hand corner in injury time to see the game out for the BU and ensure the unbeaten run continues.

Full time BU 1 - 0 Dunipace.
