Linlithgow Rose / Pre-season

Thanks to United coach Blair Munn for quickly catching up with us today!

What were your thoughts on the game against Linlithgow?

“It was mainly about fitness for us and trying to plan for the season starting next week. A lot of the boys haven't played together as well and we're still adding players to the group so it's all about the minutes and working on shape as well as working on getting our strongest team out there onto the pitch. That's pre-season finished now and it's all about preparing for next week against Rangers which will be a tough test."

On pre-season, it's bound to have been more difficult with the influx of signing and the match call offs?

"It has been a stop-start pre-season with games getting cancelled due to the covid situation and us trying to blend the new signings with the squad that have been here before. It should become easier for us when the proper games start next week, games every Saturday at three o'clock and we are really looking forward to it."

On the game against Rangers B, how much do you know about the opposition?

"We know a decent bit about them, the way they set up and play. They'll be a very good young side that trains everyday, full time players and a tough test. It will be something we haven't really come across before in terms of how they'll play, an expansive possession based style, but it is a challenge we're looking forward to."

Thanks again to Blair and we would like to wish him, the rest of the coaching team, and the players all the very best for the big kick-off next week.
